dream girl
she came through the door — six foot four
a warm wave spread out over the floor
she came to everybody’s full attention
from another dimension — beyond convention
all legs and curves and dressed to impress
wearing red spike heels and a little black dress
passing through the crowd with a hint of a smile
she stepped her stride in a sensuous style
she surveyed the room, stopped, and turned to me
she asked if this was the place to be
I assured her grace that this was the place
one look at her face and I had a case
she said, hey honey — you’re my nominee
i’ll show you the way — come along with me
well the dreamed kicked in and we made the scene
she took me to a place I’d never been
i was always on the outside — looking in
a door opened wide and we went within
a beat took over and music started
lights flashed colors and the crowd parted
she danced real slow with amazing grace
she rocked in rhythm — she filled that space
she put on her show — I was mesmerized
beyond anything i’d fantasized
the spotlight flickered and dimmed down low
the music stopped — so did the show
i was there in the dark — all alone
my alarm was buzzing a groaning drone
i opened my eyes and she was gone
i was in my bed — and it was dawn
dream girl gone — dream girl gone
